Jake Lorenz
If you’ve been to the Midwest, chances are that you’ve seen him rock the spot. Jake aka Deejay Pickel blends with the best, his sets get sweaty, and he isn’t afraid to throw back the throwbacks. Known for flirting with feel-good genres, Jake spins everything from Prince and The Cure to the Beastie Boys and Steely Dan. In addition, Jake has shared the stage with numerous hip-hop icons, including RUN DMC, Pete Rock, Tone Loc, The GZA, House of Pain and Brand Nubian, as well as sharing bills with turntablists Z-Trip and Cut Chemist.

“When my wife and I were planning our wedding, it was only natural that I ask one of my biggest influences to helm the turntables. Playing to the toughest crowd you could imagine (ages 10 to 80, multiple cultures and languages spoken, and about 40 DJs), Jake absolutely crushed it. To say our guests were pleased would be an understatement, as I still have relatives on both sides of our family talk about how dope he was almost six years later.”
